An air-conditioned bus provides transportation between the Residence and the CUD campus several times a day. This includes an evening trip for students attending evening classes. There is no additional charge for this service.
Personal transportation such as cars & motorbikes can be parked in the designated parking lots at the Residence.
All students applying for the Residence must have a mandatory health check done by the CUD Medical Center prior to moving into the Residence. This health check must be redone each year. The service is free of charge.
The CUD Medical Center is located on the CUD campus and provides basic medical services to students free of charge. A fully qualified nurse is on duty during normal office timings; a fully qualified medical doctor is available 1 afternoon a week for consultations.
The Residence Officer is trained in basic first-aid and is equipped with a first-aid kit. A government clinic is located near the Residence for more serious health concerns.
Students are strongly advised to arrange for their own private medical card which can be done through the University.
CUD provides a cleaning service in order to maintain a clean, safe, hygienic, and attractive environment in the CUD Residence. The Residence Officer may suggest cleaning service to be provided to students who requested it. Charges are to be paid by the student directly to the cleaning company.
Students who wish to have their rooms cleaned should request this service by signing in the Cleaners Log Book at the Residence Security Office. Cleaning requests will be handled on a “schedule-permitting” basis and should not be expected immediately.
Students are responsible for cleaning and picking up after themselves in the kitchen on a daily basis. This includes washing dishes, pots, pans, and glassware they have used; putting away food; throwing away garbage; and wiping down work surfaces.
The Facilities Department provides professional pest control services each semester to eliminate any insects or pests which may be present in and around the Residence.
CUD prides itself on a well-maintained, comfortable, student-centered environment. Students are encouraged to report all maintenance, housekeeping, or other Residence related problems as soon as they occur. Problem Report Forms are available in the Housing Office. The Facilities Office processes all service requests by date and responds in a timely manner.
CUD provides storage to residents who are living in the Residence or to those who are returning to the Residence for the next academic semester and have paid all housing fees. Students who have not paid for the next academic semester are not permitted to store their belongings in the room they were occupying or anywhere else in the CUD Residence. All items should be clearly marked. CUD will not be responsible for any loss of property.
The mail for all residents is distributed at the Residence Security Office. Students are responsible for collecting their own mail. Mail will be held for one semester only. All unclaimed mail will be destroyed.
Example: Mail from Fall semester 2009 will be destroyed at the end of Spring semester 2010.
