The Canadian University of Dubai works with professional companies in our industry placement efforts. Industry placements also known as internships are an educational employment opportunity. The experience allows students the occasion to apply what they have learned in their academic classes to the work world. For many students, deciding on a career is challenging, an internship can clarify any ambivalence a student may feel about his or her major because it offers him or her glimpse into a potential career path that a classroom cannot provide. The internship is a course of study with both an experiential and academic component. CUD offers, Engineering, Business, Architecture and Environmental Health Science internships.Internship enrollment is compulsory to all undergraduate majors and counts for 2-3 credit hours toward the undergraduate degree. Students are required to work for 150-180hrs (dependent upon the program) of professional practice either on a part time or full time basis. Full-time internship involves 30-40hrs per week and a part time internship involves 15-20hrs a week. The company/organization provides professional staff members to assist the student in their learning experience.
